Oakville offense continues to roll in win over Owls

The Oakville offense topped 20 runs for the third time in four games on Thursday, as the Acorns obliterated Mary M. Knight 28-0 in four innings.

After a scoreless first, the Acorns (6-3, 2-0 1B Coastal) put up three in the second, and the floodgates opened in the third. Oakville plated 18 runs in the third, and seven more came across in the fourth.

Six different Acorns tallied two or more hits, and 12 recorded at least one. Twelve hitters also drove in at least one run, and five brought home three or more.

Joseph Charles reached base in all five of his plate appearances, going 3 for 3 with a home run and four runs batted in while walking twice.

Nate Kluth went 4 for 4 with three RBIs, while Koner Burnett tallied three hits, including two triples, to bring home three more. Gio Rodas went 3 for 3 with a double, an RBI, and he scored twice.

Nate Kluth also struck out seven without allowing a hit in three innings on the mound, and Dre Kluth finished off the combined no-hitter by striking out the side in the bottom of the fourth.

During their four-game winning streak, the Acorns have scored 89 runs. They’ll look to push their streak to five when they head to Lacey to face Northwest Christian on Friday.
