The Tumwater boys basketball team dropped its second straight game to a 4A contender at the Hardwood Invite at Garfield High School in Seattle on Monday with an 89-65 loss to Skyline.

The Thunderbirds never got settled into the game, committing 25 turnovers across four quarters, and ran into foul trouble late. After making it out of the first quarter down by seven, Tumwater watched Skyline go on a 27-8 run in the second to take a 26-point lead into halftime.

Connor Hopkins led Tumwater with 17 points, hitting five 3-pointers, and came away with four steals. Brayden Oram had 10 points. Luke Brewer had nine points and seven assets, while Tanner Brewer led the way on the glass with five rebounds.

Tumwater (6-2, 4-0 2A EvCo) is set for one more game in King County — weather-permitting — Tuesday afternoon against Camas.
