Titans top Comets to remain unbeaten

The Pe Ell-Willapa Valley baseball team won its fourth consecutive game on Saturday, topping Naselle 4-1.

The Titans (4-0) pitching staff stifled the Comets all day, as Liam Smaciarz, Connor Keeton, and Max Jarvis combined to allow just two hits and one run on the bump over seven innings.

Offensively, the Titans did enough to support that trio, taking a 2-0 lead with RBI singles from Lucas Lusk and Keeton in the third before adding insurance runs in the fifth and seventh.

The boys played well all around,” PWV coach Kent Smaciarz said. “Whenever we play Naselle we know we’re going to get a solid game.”

Keeton finished 2 for 4 with a pair of RBIs, while Brayden Ruddell also notched a pair of hits and drove in a run.

The Titans are back in action on Tuesday when they head to Forks.
