Tigers Trounce Cardinals in Doubleheader

Hosting Winlock for a Central 2B League doubleheader, the Napavine baseball team won handily in both contests by run-rule, 17-0 and 17-0. 

In the first contest, Ashton Demarest tossed all five innings, allowing just one hit and striking out 12 in a shutout performance. At the plate, Conner Holmes went 2 for 3 with two runs scored, three RBIs, hit a double and a home run to lead the Tiger batters. Cal Bullock went 2 for 3 with three runs scored and Beckett Landram went 2 for 3 with a run scored and an RBI. 

In the second game, an identical 17-0 win, Holmes and Hudson Chambers combined for a five-inning no-hitter, with Holmes tossing the first 3 1/3 innings and striking out three with six walks, and Chambers striking out one in 1 2/3 innings of work. 

Holmes scored four more runs in the second game on a 1 for 2 line, and Demarest went 2 for 3 with three runs scored, three RBIs, and a walk drawn. 

The Tigers will look to keep it rolling against Rainier on Friday while the Cardinals take on Wahkiakum.
