The Centralia boys basketball team led going into the final eight minutes at home against Aberdeen but could see the game out, falling 67-62 to the Bobcats on Friday in 2A Evergreen Conference play.
The score stood at 50-48 in favor of the hosts at the end of the third quarter, after Centralia came back to overcome a small halftime deficit. But Aberdeen’s offense stayed hot in the fourth quarter, while the Tigers cooled off enough to open the window.
Carlos Vallejo put in a team-high 17 points for the Tigers, Von Wasson scored 14, and Brady Sprague pitched in 13.
Aberdeen’s Manny Garcia led all scorers with 27 points.
Centralia (1-4, 0-1 2A EvCo) will go to Rochester for a road matchup against the Warriors next Wednesday.
