In a straight sets loss to Shelton (25-19, 25-23, 25-21) Tuesday night, Centralia put together a good serving night, but couldn’t put together its offense in a league defeat at home.

The Tigers had several players record perfect serving nights, but finished with 27 hitting errors in the loss.

“We just had too many unforced errors, that was the most glaring thing,” Tigers coach Marti Smith said. “We didn’t bring a lot of energy tonight, and we couldn’t put the ball away when we needed to.”

On the positive side, Smith commended the play of her libero, Evie Rooklidge, who finished with 23 digs and was outstanding in serve-receive. The senior was also a perfect 11 for 11 serving.

Fellow senior Jaydn Hawley was also perfect from the service line, going 13 for 13 with 10 digs, and Tatum Johnston and Ella Orr finished with five kills a piece. Johnston also recorded four blocks.

The Tigers will take on Tumwater next on the road on Thursday.
