Riverhawks Sweep T-Wolves in Twin Bill

Playing twice Saturday afternoon, the Toledo softball team got back to its winning ways with a doubleheader sweep against Morton-White Pass, 14-0 in five innings and then 20-4 in three innings. 

The Riverhawks dominated the Central 2B League matchups from start to finish, scoring nine runs in the first inning of the first game to start the day off hot. 

Bethany Bowen threw all five innings, allowing just one hit with one walk and five strikeouts in the shutout. Mialeigh Jurica went 3 for 5, with all her hits being doubles, with two runs scored and three RBIs, and Candace Clark went 3 for 4 with three runs scored and three RBIs. 

In the second game, it was a bit back and forth until Toledo put 11 runs on the board in the second, pulling away for the 20-4 win. 



Peyton Holter threw all three innings, giving up five hits and four earned runs with three strikeouts. Abbie Marcil went 3 for 3 with a pair of doubles, knocking in five RBIs and scoring three runs herself. 

Kailea Lairson went 2 for 3 with two RBIs and three runs scored, and Quyn Norberg added a 2 for 3 line with four runs scored and a walk drawn. 

MWP’s lone hit in Game 1 came from Keegan Ingalsbe, while Abigail Sympson went 2 for 2 in Game 2 with a run scored, an RBI, and a double. 

The Timberwolves play host to Napavine on Monday for another league matchup while Toledo hosts Wahkiakum.
