Rashoff tosses no-hitter in Vikings blowout win

Eighth grader Maci Rashoff dazzled in the circle on Thursday night, tossing a five-inning no-hitter in Mossyrock’s 13-0 victory over Wishkah Valley at home.

Rashoff allowed a walk and a runner to reach base via an error, but she held the Loggers in check the rest of the way with eight strikeouts. The Vikings (6-4) gave her plenty of run support with a six-run bottom of the second and five in the fourth.

Coach Keith Coleman was more than pleased with the outing. Mossyrock will have a quick turnaround and host Napavine on Friday.

“She (Rashoff) can come in and throw strikes and as an eighth grader, it puts confidence in her,” he said. “It took us an inning (to get adjusted) and started it the second time through.”

Adyson Barrows drove in three runs and stuffed the box score with two runs scored, two walks and stole two bases plus roped a double. Rashoff added two RBIs and Erin Cournyer recorded an RBI. The Vikings drew 10 walks on the day.
