New Scatter Creek FC Select Program to Open Tryout Registration in Spring

Posted

As soccer continues to grow in Lewis and south Thurston counties, a new select club will begin play this year in Scatter Creek FC, based out of Tenino and Rochester and aimed at boys and girls groups between U11 and U18.

The club was formed by Eric Burkevics, who said that the club is looking for players seeking a tough challenge and better competition, while also being community-based.

We want to connect with local schools, boys and girls clubs, and local rec soccer in our area,” Burkevics said.

Scatter Creek FC games will typically run like high school contests, with older teams getting to participate in walk-outs and roster announcements, with practices typically located in Rochester and Tenino.

Burkevics said that registration for tryouts will begin approximately in March, and that tryouts themselves will be held in May and June of this year.

The cost will be somewhere around $500 per player, per Burkevics, and will include two uniforms, two seasons, a backpack, and two tournaments.

For more information, you can email Burkevics and the Scatter Creek FC board at scattercreekfc@gmail.com, or check out their website www.scattercreekfc.com

Scatter Creek is also searching for one more board member and qualified coaches, who they encourage to email them for more information.

Scatter Creek FC has two dates and locations where they’ll be promoting the new club, February 11 at Rochester IGA, and February 12 at Tenino Market Fresh, both between 10 a.m. and noon.
