Firehouse Subs, a sandwich chain restaurant, opened a location Saturday inside the Centralia Safeway Center under franchise owners Jameson Lovelace, Jim Lovelace, Brandon Lovelace and Larry Bonife, all of Washington.

The restaurant is open from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.

The owners opened their first location in Everett in 2015. The Centralia store marks their fifth location in the state.

The chain, headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida, was founded by firefighters.

The nonprofit founded by the company, the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation, donates money and equipment to firefighters and law enforcement agencies.

So far, the foundation has donated over $62.5 million, including over $709,000 in Washington.

“For over 16 years, Washington native Jameson Lovelace has worked in the food industry. After experiencing the hearty and flavorful subs Firehouse Subs has to offer, it was love at first bite for Jameson,” stated a news release from Firehouse Subs. “Now, this team of restaurant owners are excited to bring the brand to Centralia.”

Firehouse Subs serves a variety of hot specialty subs, with premium meats and cheeses sliced fresh daily in the restaurant. The restaurant offers a variety of catering options including sandwiches, dessert platters, salads and snacks.

Each restaurant recycles 5-gallon pickle buckets, available to guests for a $3 donation to the foundation.

The Centralia location features a hand-painted mural by Chief Mural Artist Joe Puskas, featuring a Centralia firefighter and fire truck in downtown Centralia.

Since the opening of the first Firehouse Subs in 1994, Puskas and his team have painted more than 1,200 murals for locations across the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico.

“We were born and raised in Washington so it’s been a real honor to grow the Firehouse Subs brand across our home state,” said Jameson Lovelace in the release. “We are looking forward to getting to know the community.”
