Summer at the Schmidt is set to bring vintage glam to the garden from 5 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 9 at the historic Schmidt House, a news release from the Olympia Tumwater Foundation stated.
Erika Smith will be the emcee for the event.
“She may not be Marilyn Monroe, but Erika Smith brings the same vintage sparkle and star power,” according to the release. “Erika will light up Summer at the Schmidt with live vocals, classic Hollywood glam, roving entertainment and photo ops.”
Entertainment at the event includes a silent auction; a paddle raise, hosted by Erika Smith; and live music.
This 1950s-inspired garden party is set against the backdrop of the Schmidt House, located at 330 Schmidt Place SW, Tumwater, and is an opportunity to support the Olympia Tumwater Foundation’s college scholarship fund and the Tumwater Youth Music program.
“Summer at the Schmidt is our way of blending timeless style with a timeless cause,” said Todd Cutts, executive director of the Olympia Tumwater Foundation. “It’s Frank Sinatra meets fundraising — and it’s gonna be a gas.”
Tickets are $125 each and can be purchased at givebutter.com/c/coolscholars.
