As a Democrat, I was very interested in the article concerning Mr. Brent Hennrich’s campaign kickoff. And as a Democrat, I am even more interested in keeping Washington’s Third Congressional District in the hands of Democrats.
I have followed Marie Gluesenkamp Perez’s (MGP) career as a congresswoman during her time in office.
Did I always like the way she voted? No.
Did I research why she voted as she did on a particular issue? Yes.
Did I then understand why she voted the way she did? Yes.
Did I always agree with her decision even after I heard side of the story? Not always.
But I did get 60 to 80 percent of what I would have liked from her. She is also willing to reach across the aisle to work with Republicans. That is what many people are asking for. I will take that half a loaf rather than nothing.
With Brent Hennrich, I would maybe get another 10 percent of what I would like, but at what cost?
Washington’s Third Congressional District is, in my opinion, purple at this time. Brent Hennrich, again in my opinion, is to the left of MGP and due to that fact would be more likely to lose to a Republican.
I would get nothing that I would like from a Republican.
Mr. Hennrich’s victory in the primary this August would do nothing but ensure a Republican victory in the fall. We need reasonable people in Washington, D.C., more than ever before so as to stop the madness which is on going.
If anyone reading this is an Independent or a Republican who is not in the MAGA camp, consider voting for MGP.
