Letter to the editor: Inslee, Ferguson flout laws in pursuit of their agendas

Posted

I completely agree with Sheryl Isaacson’s recent letter, but there is more.

Gov. Jay Inslee and Attorney General Bob Ferguson enacted the illegal “sanctuary state” and “Keep Washington Working” laws that infer our state doesn’t have to comply with our federal Customs and Border Protection and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents.

Inslee and Ferguson dictated that our law enforcement officers aren’t allowed to communicate with ICE about illegal aliens (they call them undocumented, to make them seem less illegal).

There’s much more.

Read the laws for yourselves. It is under the Office of Attorney General Bob Ferguson in “Keep Washington Working” in bold print, second paragraph.

Keep in mind that Ferguson is in the Democratic Party that has controlled the Washington state government for 40 years. He’s running for governor in 2024.

I also agree with Mike Fancher of the Washington Coalition for Open Government about the Public Records Act. We have a right to know what our government is doing. I have requested information from Inslee and Ferguson. Inslee delayed his answers, but eventually sent some, but not all. Ferguson has forgotten that the Public Records Act time limit to respond is five days. Ferguson has not responded since November of last year.

I ask you, is that the person who we want for our next governor?

Democrats and Republicans are good people, but too many of us don’t vote or just vote for the party choice, because it’s easy. Do they feel that way when our taxes are raised? Remember that all votes count.
