Recently, my husband was discharged from Providence Centralia Hospital and I was with him each day.
We had the most kind, efficient care possible.
The nurses, the student nurses, the staff, the cafeteria, the chaplain and doctors were kind and helpful. The button always brought a prompt response and, after asking what was needed, they came quickly.
The surgeon came around 5 a.m. each morning and gave his report, answering any questions asked. Another hospital doctor came in the afternoon to report and recap my husband’s progress.
The cafeteria manager came to evaluate our needs and, for $7.50, they brought up a meal for me to enjoy with my husband, Mel. If he asked, they brought hot chocolate any time available right on his floor.
The room was kept clean, and each member of the staff had a sense of humor and quickly got acquainted with Me,l making it a good exchange even if they needed to take more blood.
A staff member checked in at times and were pleasant and well informed, and checkout was very easy and efficient with that person. Nearby, our prescriptions were filled and we were on our way home.
A call came after we were home explaining any new meds and answering questions as to how they were working out. Then came a call from our family care nurse asking how Mel was doing and if each medicine was beneficial. Physical therapy at home provided for speedy recovery.
We couldn’t have been given better care any place and we are grateful we have this facility nearby in our community.
