The International Mermaid Museum Festival is drawing near, a news release from the International Mermaid Museum stated.
In 2026, the event will be open every full weekend in March and will be held at Westport Winery Garden Resort, home of the International Mermaid Museum. Museum admission will be free from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on March 7, 8, 14, 15, 21, 22, 28 and 29.
The festival will have many world-class entertainers, local artists, food and a series of attractions for visitors of all ages, the release stated. In addition to the museum’s exhibits, the celebration will host a school of mermaids from around the region along with other mythical creatures throughout the museum, gardens and tents.
Events and performances include:
• Una the mermaid will be performing underwater in her tank each weekend from 11 a.m. to noon, 1 to 2 p.m., and 3 to 4 p.m.
• Siren Circe will preside on the mermaid throne in the museum daily from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., according to the release.
• Vertical Axis performers Nick Perry and Amanda Thornton will perform at 11:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. daily. They combine music and dance while suspended from a 20-foot tower.
• The Pacific Northwest Unicorns and their handler Crystal will be available for pictures and greetings each day from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. during the festival.
• The WSU Master Gardeners will host a free plant clinic each Saturday, where they will help sharpen any dull garden tools.
• Each day in the museum, kids are invited to a Pirate’s Treasure Hunt with prizes for those who complete the puzzle and find the treasure.
The International Mermaid Museum is a registered 501(C)3 nonprofit dedicated to teaching ocean ecology from seashore to sea floor immersed in mermaid mythology, uniting world oceanic cultures, according to the release from the museum.
The International Mermaid Museum is open daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. all year.
