Ronald Guy Horton, lately of Tacoma, Washington, but previously a 21-year resident of Pe Ell, Washington, died at Kindred Hospital Seattle – First Hill in Seattle, Washington, of complications from myasthenia gravis. He was 84.
“Ron” was born in Flint, Michigan, to Ronald Edward Horton and Marjorie Louise (née Beard) Horton.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 51 years, Joan Horton (McConnell); his stepson, Kirk Jeffrey Clements; his daughter, Rhonda Renee Horton (from a previous marriage); and his sisters, Marjorie Lucille Zeltvay (née Horton), Judith Mary Eakin (née Horton), and Carol Ann Horton.
He is survived by his sister, Nancy Alice Yount (née Horton), and her husband, Robert. He also has several nieces and nephews.
Other survivors include stepchildren Barton Craig Clements (Barbarajean), Milodene Clements, and Kendall James Clements (Lynn); six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was cremated, and a memorial service will be held April 18, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. at Dufur Christian Church in Dufur, Oregon.
