In loving memory of Linda Mattocks: 1952-2026

Posted

Born Dec. 10, 1952, in Morton, Washington, the second child born to Harry and Heddy Mattocks, Linda lived a life defined by love for her family and friends, and her unshakable faith in God.

Linda attended Shelton Grade School as well as White Pass High School in Randle, Washington.

Linda married Thomas Green and raised a family in Glenoma, Washington. After parting ways, she met and married Gerald Killgrove and resided in Lacey, Washington, where she worked as a flagger for the local union.

Linda had a love for life and always said she wanted to live to be 100. She loved gardening, swimming, and going for long walks. She loved sitting in the sun and drinking coffee on the deck in the mornings, and she liked working. Most of all, Linda loved to pray and read the Bible.

Linda fell asleep in the arms of Jesus on Feb. 7, 2026, at Providence Hospital in Centralia, Washington, at the age of 73. Her zeal for life lives on through her children, Tom Green (Julie), John Green (Shelly), and Anna Green; her grandchildren, Matt, Kayla, Jaida, and Jordyn; her siblings, Brenda Cleveland, Greg Mattocks, and Donald Lynn; and her aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Linda was preceded in death by her father, Harry Mattocks; mother, Heddy Godwin; and sister, Debbie Waters.

A celebration of life will be held at Jesus Name Glenoma Washington Church on Feb. 28, 2026 at 11 a.m. A potluck will follow.

"I have fought the good fight.

I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.

Henceforth this is laid up for me the crown of righteousness."
