In loving memory of Larry Miller: 1948-2026

Posted

Larry E. Miller of Longview, Washington, died March 2, 2026, after a short illness. Larry was the son of Edwin and Margaret Miller. He was born Oct. 16, 1948, in Lafayette, Indiana, and was raised in the Midwest. He volunteered to join the Army during Vietnam and served two tours in 1969 and 1970. His unit was the U.S. Army 1st Cavalry Division. He later met and married Linda, his wife of 51 years. She survives him, along with his daughter, Amy; her husband, Dave; two granddaughters and three grandsons; and his younger sister and brother. His older sisters predeceased him.

Larry was an honest, hardworking and brave person. When he and Linda moved to Washington, he traded his knowledge of hang gliding for training as a timber faller. He spent several years falling trees, meeting friends and becoming part of the community in east Lewis County. He rode horses all over the Cascades, fished with friends, and hunted deer and elk every year. In retirement, he and Linda traveled in their RV around the country, making many new friends. He loved his family, enjoyed many happy trips with friends, and cherished teaching his grandkids to hunt and fish.

Larry’s life will be celebrated April 26, 2026, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Morton Senior Center in Morton, Washington.
