In loving memory of Delores Prince: 1948-2026

Delores “Shorty” Prince passed away peacefully March 17, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

She is survived by her devoted spouse, Darrel Prince, with whom she shared 61 wonderful years of marriage. She also leaves behind her children: Lisa Melius; Kristie and Hector Martinez; and Darrel “Andy” and Naomi Prince. Delores was a proud grandmother to Brandon, Taylor, Parker, Bethany, Dahlia and Aaron, and a cherished great-grandmother to Parker Jr. and Forrest.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Vina Church; her brothers, Arthur, Clarence, Howard and Robert; and her sisters, Beatrice, Ethel, Hazel, Elsie and Frances.

Delores dedicated 35 years of service to Southwest Washington Medical Center before retiring in 2002. After retirement, she and Darrel moved to Silver Creek, Washington, and enjoyed spending many winters in sunny Arizona.

She lived a vibrant and creative life, finding joy in gardening, painting, jewelry-making, beading and many other artistic pursuits. Delores will be remembered for her active spirit, warm heart and the lasting impact she had on everyone she met.

A celebration of her life will be held April 18 from noon to 3 p.m. at the Salkum Fire Station, 2495 U.S. Highway 12, Salkum, Washington 98582. Desserts and refreshments will be provided.

Her memory will be forever cherished by all who knew and loved her.
