In Focus: First Rainy Day Fest a success in Pe Ell

Posted

A new community festival was born this month with the first Rainy Day Fest in Pe Ell.

The brainchild of aptly-named Rainy Day Coffee Company owner Rainee Habersetzer, the festival was held Sunday, Oct. 11.

It featured a chili cook-off, a pumpkin pie-eating contest, a cornhole tournament and a vendor market with 37 different vendors, along with live music, fun activities for kids and a touch-a-truck event.

“Rainy Day Fest exceeded every expectation we had!” Habersetzer told The Chronicle. “The turnout was wonderful and the weather was even better. The live music was incredible, and we can’t wait to have Michael back next year! Touch-A-Truck was also a huge hit with the kids. We would absolutely love to make Rainy Day Fest an annual tradition in Pe Ell! We’re already looking forward to next year and have plenty of ideas to make it even better!”

Rainee Habersetzer collected these photos from attendees and shared them with The Chronicle.
