Fall Community Garage Sale and Swap Meet returns to SWW Fairgrounds Oct. 10; free Repair and Sustainability Fair also offered

The Southwest Washington Fairgrounds will welcome bargain hunters, treasure seekers and community members for the annual Fall Garage Sale and Swap Meet on Saturday, Oct. 10, featuring more than 176 vendor booths throughout six buildings and outdoor spaces.

The community sale offers shoppers a wide variety of secondhand treasures, antiques, collectibles, tools, household goods, clothing and unique finds.

The event will also continue its growing swap meet component, creating additional opportunities for vendors offering vehicles, parts, tools, equipment and other traditional swap meet finds.

This year, visitors can make even more of their trip to the fairgrounds with the free Repair and Sustainability Fair, taking place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Community Events Building.

Rather than throwing away something that may still have plenty of life left, attendees are encouraged to bring eligible items to volunteer fixers for help with repairs and sharpening.

Services will include clothing and bags, bicycles, small appliances and electronics, tools, knives, scissors, push mowers, chainsaws and other small engines.

Together, the two events make for a full day centered around finding treasures, extending the life of things residents already own, and keeping usable items out of the landfill, a news release from event organizers stated.

Attendees can also grab something to eat while they shop, with food and beverage vendors available, including FFA Burgers, Mobile Mermaid Espresso, Liquid Sunshine Lemonade, Grandad’s Kettle Corn and a 4-H Pie Sale Fundraiser.

Early bird entry at 8 a.m. is $7 and general admission at 9 a.m. is $5. Children 12 and under are free.

The free Repair and Sustainability Fair lasts from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Due to ongoing construction at the fairgrounds, attendees should enter through the Blue (south) Gate.
