Blazer Men Lose it On the Glass

Centralia College men’s basketball stayed within striking distance until late in the first half in an 84-72 road loss to Pierce College in Northwest Conference West Region play on Saturday.

“We didn’t have enough gas,” Blazer coach Jason Moir said. “When shots aren’t falling, our offense gets stagnant. We just couldn’t answer.”

The Blazers were undone on the offensive glass, getting outscored 22-3 on offensive rebounds. It was a frustrating loss for the Blazers, who trailed by just three (38-35) at the half and then were outscored 46-37 in the second half.

Kolby White scored 16 points on 6 of 17 shooting from the field and added six steals. Bryon Taylor had a team-high 27 points on 10 of 21 shooting with six assists and five steals.

Pierce had four players score in double digits.

Centralia College (2-14, 1-4 West Region) hosts Tacoma at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
