Beavers Blast Out Goals in Shutout of Ravens

Tenino boys soccer scored seven goals on seven assists and the Beavers blasted their way past Raymond-South Bend for a 7-0 road victory in 1A Evergreen League play in South Bend on Friday.

Tyler Minerich and Max Craig each notched braces, with Craig and David Espinoza each adding two assists.

The Beavers dominated from start to finish, outshooting the Ravens 32-1 and holding a 6-0 lead at the half.

“We possessed the ball really well and did a good job sharing and passing,” Tenino coach Kevin Schultz said. “We were unselfish.”

Minerich kicked off the scoring in the 7th minute off an assist from Craig to put Tenino up for good. Craig responded by scoring a goal of his own in the eight minute off an assist from Paydon Henderson.



Minerich clinched his brace in the 10th minute, assisted by Espinoza. David Ruedy scored his first varsity goal in the 26th minute from an assist by Trent Hayes. Espinoza scored his first goal of the season in the 48th minute, assisted by Craig. And Triston Whitaker capped off the scoring in the 75th minute, assisted by Alex Reichelderfer.

Rowdy Tafoya played in goal and secured his first varsity save.

“It was a good game to get guys a lot of minutes and to move guys around,” Schultz said. “And starting the second half of a league with a win.”

Tenino (6-4, 5-3 1A Evergreen) continues league play when it travels to Forks on Wednesday.
