Bearcats Blanked by Bobcats

The W.F. West boys soccer team stumbled a bit into the end of a packed first week of the season, falling at Aberdeen 2-0.

“It was our third game in four days (and it) showed,” WFW coach Allen Anderson said. “Our legs were fatigued. Not being able to practice between games and make adjustments also impacts things. We played really well, just had a couple defensive mistakes that Aberdeen capitalized on.”

W.F. West held the line and played things even for a half, led by Charles Comisky and Cameron Kunz. Out of the break, the Bobcats found their opener, scoring in the 54th minute, and doubled the advantage in the 63rd.

Other than the two goals, Aberdeen only got off one shot on frame. W.F. West finished with two of its own, both saved.

The Bearcats will get a weekend to rest up before heading to Thurston County to take on Tumwater.
