Bee Inspired Garden, a local nonprofit demonstration pollinator sanctuary in the Onalaska area, will hold tours on Saturday, Aug. 2, to promote the understanding of how individuals and communities can contribute to the wellbeing of pollinators, according to a news release from Bee Inspired Garden.
Founder Kay Crawford will lead the tour of the gardens, full of plants that benefit bees, butterflies and birds. A tour of the apiary, or bee farm, is included. The apiary features three different types of beekeeping hives, honey tasting right from the comb and the ability to safely observe the bees at work in their Slovenian-style hives located inside the bee house.
Tour times are at 12:15 p.m. and 3:45 p.m. on Aug. 2. There is no charge for the tour, though donations to the nonprofit that maintains the pollinator sanctuary are greatly appreciated.
A reservation in advance is required. To reserve a spot, contact Kay Crawford at 360-880-0663, or email through the website at www.BeeInspiredGarden.com.
