As many of you know, our Chehalis office was recently burned and destroyed in an act of arson.
We are incredibly grateful to the emergency responders who acted quickly to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading to neighboring homes. Most importantly, we are grateful that no one was injured in an incident that could have been so much worse. Things can be replaced, but people cannot.
We are also thankful that we had previously moved our systems to a cloud-based environment, which has allowed us to recover quickly. We are nearly fully operational at our temporary location on SW Salsbury and remain committed to serving our clients and residents without interruption.
We understand that there are questions about the circumstances surrounding the fire and our prior interactions with the individual who has been accused in connection with it. While we did not know him well, he had previously rented from us until 2025. During that time, his home was destroyed by a separate fire.
We worked with him afterward and provided opportunities for him to obtain new housing. Our interactions at that time were positive, and we understood that he intended to move north with a family member. We believed our relationship had ended on good terms and wished him well.
Because this matter is under investigation, we want to be respectful of that process and avoid commenting further on details that may be addressed by law enforcement or in court. Our priority is, and always will be, the safety of our employees, residents, clients, and neighbors.
We are deeply grateful for the outpouring of support we have received from our community, clients, residents, friends, and neighbors. Your messages, encouragement, and support have meant more to us than we can adequately express.
We are moving forward together, focused on rebuilding and continuing to serve our community for many years to come.
Thank you for standing with us from your friends at Northwest Property Managers.
