2B Baseball: Titans Split With Ocosta

Pe Ell-Willapa Valley came up short in the opener, but bounced back with a 16-11 win in the nightcap to salvage a Pacific 2B League baseball split against Ocosta Tuesday in Ocean Shores.

The Titans were held to just one hit in an 11-1 Game 1 loss, as Wildcat pitcher Colby Scheuber struck out 12 in five innings of work. Kaden Ritzman drove in PWV’s lone run and Garrett Keeton had the Titans’ only hit.

The nightcap was a different story. PWV scored in every inning, pulling ahead 7-6 in the top of the third frame and holding the lead the rest of the way in its 16-11 victory.

The Titans knocked 11 hits, with Keeton going 5 for 6 with five RBIs and a pair of doubles. Hudson Barnum went 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI, Joseph Krafzyk was 2 for 2, and Gavin Hampton had a hit and drove in two runs.



Scheuber went 3 for 6 with a pair of doubles and six RBIs for Ocosta.

Aiden Young got the win for PWV, working 5.2 innings and striking out two while giving up four earned runs. 

PWV (5-3) hosts Forks on Friday.
