Sirens: Car Fire at Hospital; Drunk Driver Hits Power Pole; Van Stolen

Car Fire at Hospital Extinguished 

• Riverside Fire Authority responded to a car fire in the parking lot at Centralia Providence Hospital at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. When crews arrived, the engine of a 1994 Ford Thunderbird car was fully involved. The five responding firefighters extinguished the blaze. No other vehicles or property were damaged. The owner of the car was on scene and said the Ford had been having electrical problems recently where the fire is believed to have started.

Lawn Mower, Tools Stolen

• Deputies responded on Monday to a report of a second-degree residential burglary in the 100 block of Crescent Beach Drive in Packwood. The homeowner reported miscellaneous tools and a riding lawn mower were stolen. The burglary occurred between Nov. 15 and Nov. 18. The investigation is ongoing. 

Warrant and Meth Arrest

• At 9 p.m. on Friday, deputies arrested Cruze D. Chamberlin, 24, of Centralia after he was contacted walking in the middle of the 1400 block of Salzer Valley Road in Centralia wearing all black. Deputies found Chamberlin had an outstanding warrant. A small container was found on Chamberlin and field tested positive for methamphetamine. He was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail.

Drunk Driver Hits Power Pole

• Deputies arrested Shawn A. Harper, 39, of Centralia after he drove into a utility pole at 4:30 a.m. on Sunday in the 2400 block of North Pearl Avenue in Centralia. A field sobriety test was conducted, and deputies arrested and booked Harper for driving under the influence.

DUI Arrest

• Police arrested and booked David W. Bailey, 66, of Centralia for suspected driving under the influence and hit and run in the 1500 block of South Gold Street in Centralia at 9:08 p.m. on Friday.

Van Stolen

• A green 2001 Chrysler van was reported stolen by a known suspect in the 1300 block of Belmont Avenue in Centralia at 8:02 a.m. on Sunday.

Glass Broken from BB Shots

• A victim in the 1700 block of North Tower Avenue in Centralia reported at 1:08 a.m. on Saturday that someone shot their front door, and BB gun ammunition broke the glass. 

Arrested on Warrant, Meth

• Police arrested Amber N. Phelps, 29, of Centralia for an outstanding warrant and suspected possession of methamphetamine in the 700 block of South Towner Avenue in Centralia at 10:02 p.m. on Saturday. 

Truck and Home Shot

• Police received a report of a drive by shooting in the 1300 block of Windsor Avenue in Centralia at 3:33 p.m. on Sunday. The victim reported hearing four to five shots in the early morning and later discovered his truck and home had been shot. The investigation is ongoing.
