The Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board has issued an emergency marijuana producer license suspension for The Sunshine Tiki Hut in Hoquiam, according to a media release from the board.

Following a complaint from the Hoquiam Police Department, the Liquor and Cannabis Control Board suspended The Sunshine Tiki Hut for the following:

• Untagged plants, clones and finished product

• Unauthorized alterations made to the business place

• Operating a business from a residence

During their investigation, officers seized 1,309 marijuana plants, 213.5 pounds of marijuana flower and 5,644 grams of extracted oil.

Washington state’s marijuana laws require traceability tags that allow for marijuana to be tracked through the system and monitored for tax compliance, potential diversion and product recalls. Additionally, licensees are not allowed to operate a business from their homes.

The Liquor and Cannabis Control Board has issued emergency suspensions before, one in 2017 and four in 2018.
