Cases of Missing Women Nancy Moyer and Kayla Croft-Payne Remain Unsolved

No new leads have surfaced in two high-profile missing persons cases in the area.

Nancy Moyer, a Tenino mother of two, was last seen March 6, 2009. Her husband, from whom she was separated, arrived at her home to drop off their two kids when he discovered she was missing. Moyer's car was parked in the driveway and her purse and keys were in the house.

There has been no new information regarding the case, according to the Thurston County Sheriff's Office.

The case of Kayla Croft-Payne, the 19-year-old Vader woman who has been missing since April 2010, has also remained quiet.

"There have been no updates, no new information that's come to light," Detective Sgt. Dusty Breen of the Lewis County Sheriff's Office said. "We're just kind of in that waiting game."

Breen said detectives occasionally run her name through different databases to see if there has been any activity regarding her name elsewhere in the country, but so far there hasn't been.

He said he didn't know if family and friends were continuing to search for her. He said the Guardians of the Children usually tell the sheriff's office when they schedule a search, but he hadn't heard from them in awhile.

"The difficulty in this case is it's unclear what area she was actually last at," Breen said. "It's hard to search if you don't have a beginning point."
