Deputies from the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office, troopers from the Washington State Patrol, officers from the Washington state Department of Fish and Wildlife and deputies from the U.S. Marshals Service arrested 19 suspects in Lewis County Thursday on warrants as part of a “Spring Clean-Up Warrant Sweep,” according to a press release.

Two people were also arrested on probable cause for other crimes.

“The collaborative effort was conducted to located and arrest people with outstanding warrants in the Lewis County area,” according to the sheriff’s office.

Law enforcement agencies attempted to serve 43 warrants for both felonies and misdemeanors.

“While the main focus of the sweep was on local warrants, there (were) two fresh arrests for violation of a protection order and another for possession of heroin,” according to the sheriff’s office.

Two suspects who were wanted were specifically wanted by the U.S. Marshals Service. The Lewis County Jail, Lewis County Prosecutor’s Office and a defense attorney also participated.

“This event demonstrates the strong partnerships between Lewis County law enforcement, the prosecutor’s office, and the courts,” Sheriff Rob Snaza said in a statement. “Through this successful sweep we were able to increase public safety while holding those accountable who break the law and evade capture.”
