A man held in the Lewis County Jail pending three second-degree assault charges is facing a fourth after allegedly assaulting a fellow inmate, according to court documents.

Danny C. Tabor, 35, of Napavine, was charged Tuesday in Lewis County Superior Court with one count of second-degree assault.

He is currently being held on $50,000 bail on another pending assault charge, but in accordance with a request from the Lewis County Prosecutor’s Office, Superior Court Judge James Lawler imposed $100,000 bail on this case.

According to court documents, on Monday, a deputy with the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Lewis County jail for the report of an assault. The deputy contacted the alleged victim, who reportedly was bleeding from his nose and had one eye swollen shut.

The inmate reported he and Tabor had been in an argument when Tabor hit the victim in the face with a plastic cup.

Medical staff at Providence Centralia Hospital confirmed the victim had a “broken left orbital bone” in his face, according to court documents.

Video footage from the jail confirmed the victim’s account of the assault, according to court documents.

Tabor is scheduled to be back in court Thursday to have a new attorney appointed and to enter a plea on this charge.
