Centralia Police Department

Vehicle Stolen

• At 7:33 a.m. on Friday, a 1998 Honda Civic was reported stolen from a backyard in the 2100 block of North Pearl Street. 

Graffiti Reported

• At 9:06 a.m. on Friday, graffiti was reported on a fence in the 900 block of South Tower Avenue. 

• At 3:17 p.m. on Friday, graffiti was reported on a fence in the 1100 block of South Tower Avenue.  

ID Taken

• At 10:30 a.m. on Friday, an identity card was reported stolen in the past three weeks from the 1300 block of Belmont Avenue. 

Man Arrested on Vehicle Prowl, Disorderly Conduct Charges

• At 4:09 a.m. on Saturday, police responded to the 2300 block of Eureka Avenue after receiving a report of a man trying to get into a person’s car. Felix H. Mariscal, 29, of Centralia, was arrested on suspicion of vehicle prowl, disorderly conduct, obstructing an officer and resisting arrest. 

Rochester Woman Cited For Alleged Wheelchair Theft

• At 6 a.m. on Sunday, police responded to the 900 block of South Scheuber Road and arrested Patrick J. Martin, 50, of Tacoma, on an outstanding warrant and cited Summer R. Kidder, 36, of Rochester, on suspicion of third-degree theft. She was accused of stealing a wheelchair from a health care facility. 

Centralia Man Accused of Punching Hole in Wall

• At 12:47 p.m. on Saturday, police responded to the 2500 block of Sharon Street and arrested Robert T. A. Rivas, III, 18, of Centralia, on suspicion of third-degree malicious mischief. He was accused of punching a hole in a wall during an argument. 

Purses Taken From Vehicles

• At 12:50 p.m. on Saturday, a purse was reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 100 block of West Hanson Street. 

• At 3:15 p.m. on Saturday, a vehicle prowl was reported in the 100 block of West High Street. A purse was taken. 

Identity Theft

• At 1:47 p.m. on Saturday, a person in the 100 block of South Diamond Street reported credit cards were fraudulently opened in their name.  

Enumclaw Suspect Cited for Trespassing

• At 3:03 p.m. on Saturday, police responded to the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue and cited Paul E. Manske, 60, of Enumclaw, on suspicion of trespassing. 

Thefts

• At 7:36 p.m. on Saturday, clothing was reported in the 1400 block of Lum Road. 

• At 7:52 p.m. on Saturday, perfume and headphones were reported stolen from the 1200 block of Harrison Avenue. 

• At 5:14 p.m. on Sunday, a theft was reported in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue. A 28-year-old Centralia woman is being referred to prosecutors on suspicion of third-degree theft. 

Man Accused of Damaging Property

• At 11:49 p.m. on Saturday, police responded to the 100 block of East Hanson Street and arrested Pedro Pablo Gomez Mendez, 45, of Chehalis, on suspicion of third-degree malicious mischief. He was accused of damaging property during an argument.

Burglary Reported at Business

• At 2:25 a.m. on Sunday, a burglary was reported at a business in the 400 block of South Tower Avenue. 

Three Accused of Organized Retail Theft

• At 2:46 p.m. on Sunday, police responded to the 1400 block of Lum Road and arrested Andraees Henderson, 29, of Seattle, Ameer Messiah, 41, of Federal Way and James Henderson, 30, of Tacoma, on suspicion of retail theft with special circumstances. 

Chehalis Police Department

Protection Order Violated

• At 9:31 a.m. on Friday, police responded to the 100 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue and arrested Thomas E. Nelson, 42, of Centralia, on suspicion of violation of a protection order.

Attempted Rape Reported

• At 9:39 a.m. on Friday, an attempted rape was reported in the 400 block of Northwest Quincy Place. 

Window Damaged in Malicious Mischief

• At 9:24 p.m. on Saturday, police received a report of malicious mischief in the 200 block of Southwest Second Street. A window on a residence was damaged. 

Assault Reported

• At 2:08 p.m. on Sunday, an assault was reported in the 300 block of Southwest James Street. 

Woman Arrested After Alleged Assault at Sporting Event at High School

• At 2:56 p.m. on Sunday, police responded to a report of an assault during between two people watching a sporting event at W.F. West High School in the 300 block of Southwest 16th Street. Jennifer L. Kappler, 42, of Chehalis, was arrested on suspicion of fourth-degree assault. 

 

Hit and Run

• At 10:03 p.m. on Friday, a hit and run was reported at the intersection of Southwest Parkland Drive and Southwest Interstate Avenue. 

 

Lewis County Jail Statistics

As of Monday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 228 inmates, including 198 in general population, 28 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center and two on work release. Of general population inmates, 159 were men and 39 women and of WERC inmates, 26 were men and two women.
