Stolen Vehicle Found Totaled, Stripped

• At 5:20 p.m. on Wednesday, deputies responded to a recovered stolen vehicle near the intersection of Hobson Road Southwest and Smith Road South in Rochester. The vehicle, a 1993 Acura Integra, was reported stolen March 22 from the 700 block of Independence Road in Rochester along with a chainsaw and tablet computer. The vehicle was found stripped and totaled on Wednesday. The chainsaw and tablet were not recovered. The vehicle’s dashboard VIN number was removed, but deputies were able to identify it based on a VIN number located on another part of the vehicle, according to the sheriff’s office. 

Randle Suspect Booked on Assault Charge

• At 5:20  p.m. on Thursday, deputies responded to a 911 call in the 700 block of Silverbrook Road in Randle. A woman reported a man strangled her and beat her up. Suspect Donald Thornton Lester II, 27, of Randle was arrested on suspicion of second-degree assault, domestic violence. 

Two Face Charges After Stolen Property Recovered During Warrant Service

• At 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, deputies responded to the 1500 block of Bishop Road in Chehalis to serve a search warrant related to a burglary report at the same location from April 6. Computer monitors, grass seed, fertilizer, fuel, fire extinguishers and building materials were reported stolen. On Thursday, deputies arrested Walter J. Hammers, 41, of Chehalis, on suspicion of second-degree burglary, second-degree theft and second-degree possession of stolen property. A 16-year-old boy was referred to prosecutors on the same charges. 

Lewis County Jail Statistics

• As of Friday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 232 inmates with 196 in general population, 34 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center and two on work release. Of general population inmates, 162 were men and 34 women and of WERC inmates, 30 were men and four women. A total of 21 inmates were booked through contracts with agencies outside Lewis County. 

Centralia Police Department

Vehicle Stolen

• At 10:31 a.m. on Wednesday, a 1990 Honda Accord was reported stolen overnight in the 1100 block of Brotherson Road. 

Assault Suspect Booked

• At 1:48 p.m. on Wednesday, police responded to a report of an assault in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue and arrested Isaac J. Rodriguez, 25, of Centralia, on suspicion of fourth-degree assault, domestic violence, and third-degree malicious mischief, domestic violence. 

Centralia Man Arrested After Giving False Name

• At 5:57 p.m. on Wednesday, police conducting an investigation in the 1600 block of Harrison Avenue contacted a suspect who reportedly identified himself using another person’s name. Joshua A. Loney, 24, of Centralia, was arrested on suspicion of identity theft. 

Lost Debit Card Used at Centralia Business

• At 10:07 a.m. on Thursday, police received a report that a debit card previously lost in Chehalis was used at a business in the 1000 block of Harrison Avenue in Centralia. An investigation is ongoing. 

Accused Trespasser Cited

• At 11:34 a.m. on Thursday, police responded to the 300 block of North Gold Street and cited Kelly A. Holen, 33, a transient, on suspicion of criminal trespass.  

Hit and Run

• At 8:10 p.m. on Thursday, a hit and run was reported in the 1800 block of Harrison Avenue. The case is under investigation. 

Chehalis Police Department

Thefts Reported

• At 3:58 p.m. on Wednesday, a third-degree theft was reported in the 400 block of North National Boulevard.

• At 2:16 p.m. on Thursday, a third-degree theft was reported in the 2100 block of North National Avenue. 

• At 10:34 p.m. on Thursday, a third-degree theft was reported in the 1100 block of South Market Boulevard. 

Fraud

• At 10:43 a.m. on Thursday, fraud was reported in the 600 block of Northwest Middle Street.  

Assault Suspect Booked

• At 10:20 p.m. on Thursday, police responded to a report of an assault in the 500 block of Southwest Chehalis Avenue. George R. Jewell, 25, of Tacoma, was arrested on suspicion of fourth-degree assault. 

Assault Reported

• At 10:35 p.m. on Thursday, a fourth-degree assault was reported in the 500 block of Southwest Pacific Avenue. No arrests were reported.
