Sirens: Rape Reported; Chehalis Man Accused of Assault With Cup of Water

Rape Reported

• At 8:34 a.m. on Wednesday, police received a report of a rape in the 500 block of West Fourth Street. The case is under investigation. 

 

Centralia Man Arrested After Punching Hospital Security

• At 2:20 p.m. on Wednesday, police responded to the 1100 block of Eckerson Road to a report of assaults on security officers at Providence Centralia Hospital. Tyler J. Lee, 30, of Centralia, was accused of punching the guards and was arrested on suspicion of two counts of third-degree assault.

 

Chehalis Man Arrested for Alleged Assault with Cup of Water

• At 3:22 p.m. on Wednesday, police responded to a report of an assault in the 1300 block of Alexander Street. Gary A. Dipola, 61, of Chehalis, was arrested and released on suspicion of third-degree assault after allegedly throwing a cup of water at a staff member of a medical facility. He is being referred to prosecutors for charges. 

Theft Suspect Cited

• At 4:59 p.m. on Wednesday, police responded to a report of a theft in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue. Kenneth P. Hall, 28, of Olympia, was cited on suspicion of third-degree theft for allegedly taking merchandise from a business.

 

Money, Computers, Credit Cards Stolen in Burglary

• At 8:08 p.m. on Wednesday, police responded to the 1200 block of Ham Hill Road for a report of a burglary. A woman reported she returned home to find money, credit cards and two laptop computers had been stolen. 

 

Vehicle Stolen

• At 5:54 p.m. on Wednesday, a white 1994 Mazda RX7 was reported stolen in the 100 block of Benjamin Street. The vehicle was recovered about an hour later abandoned in a parking lot. 

 

Tacoma Theft Suspect Booked

• At 10:53 a.m. on Thursday, police responded to the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue and arrested Thea M. Smith, 37, of Tacoma, on suspicion of second-degree theft. 

Attempted Burglary Reported

• At 12:23 p.m. on Thursday, police responded to the 2200 block of North Pearl Street to a report of an attempted burglary that occurred the previous day. The victim reported an unknown female suspect tried to break into the residence but was unsuccessful. A door was damaged. 

 

Suspect Booked on Drug Charge After Being Found Passed out in Restaurant Bathroom

• At 2:12 p.m. on Thursday, police responded to the 1200 block of Lum Road and arrested Raphael S. Baker, 40, a transient, on suspicion of possession of heroin. Police responded after Baker was reportedly found passed out in a restaurant bathroom. 

 

Dodge Caravan Stolen

• At 2:48 p.m. on Thursday, a white 2001 Dodge Caravan was reported stolen the previous week in Centralia. The case is under investigation. 

 

Retail Theft Reported

• At 5:59 p.m. on Thursday, police received a report of a retail theft involving “multiple high valued items” from the 1300 block of Lum Road. No arrests were made. 

 

Chehalis Police Department

Forgery Reported

• At 11:24 a.m. on Wednesday, police received a report of forgery in the 300 block of North Market Boulevard. 

 

Malicious Mischief 

• At 1:19 a.m. on Wednesday, malicious mischief was reported in the 2100 block of North Market Boulevard. 

 

Suspect Arrested in Theft of Tools

• At 2:28 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to a report of a shoplifter in the 1200 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue who reportedly stole tools and ran out of an emergency door before driving away. Christopher E. McKamey, 42, of Salem, Oregon, was arrested on suspicion of second-degree burglary with the help of the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. 

 

Vehicle Prowl

• At 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday, police received a report of a vehicle prowl in the 2100 block of Southwest Olympic Drive. 

 

Suspect Threatens Violence, No Arrest Made

• At 4:51 p.m. on Wednesday, police received a report of a suspect making threats to “come back and shoot everyone in the facility” in the 1200 block of Bishop Road, according to the police department. The suspect left and was not arrested. 

 

Thefts

• At 6:01 p.m. on Wednesday, a third-degree theft was reported in the 700 block of South Market Boulevard. 

• At 3:29 p.m. on Thursday, a third-degree theft was reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. 

• At 5:11 p.m. on Thursday, a shoplifter was reported in the 1200 block of South Market Street. The person took a coffee drink and left without paying. 

 

Victim Reports Internet Scam 

• At 7:10 p.m. on Wednesday, police received a report of a scam or possible blackmail in the 1000 block of Southwest 20th Street. A man reported he was chatting online with a woman who said she was 22, then the woman reportedly said she was a minor and asked him to give her $350 or he would post an explicit video of him online. 

 

Gun Stolen

• At 7:38 p.m. on Wednesday, a 12-gauge shotgun was reported stolen on southwest Second Street in Chehalis.

 

Trespassers Reported

• At 9:04 p.m. on Wednesday, a trespasser was reported in the 100 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue. No arrests were made.

• At 11:22 p.m. on Thursday, a trespasser was reported in the 1300 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. 

 

Lewis County Sheriff’s Office

DUIs Suspected in Crashes

• At 12:50 p.m. on Wednesday, deputies responded to a report of a one-vehicle crash in the 700 block of Burchett Road in Onalaska. Driver Clint E. Cooper, 60, of Onalaska, was cited on suspicion of driving under the influence. Deputies found his vehicle, a 2000 Dodge Caravan, rolled and landed partially in a ditch, blocking the road. 

• At 5:24 p.m. on Wednesday, deputies responded to a report of a crash in the 400 block of Meade Hill Road in Glenoma. Driver Keenes Embum, 18, of Randle, was arrested on suspicion of DUI. He reportedly told deputies he was drinking beer before driving and crashed after attempting to pass another vehicle. 

 

Driver Arrested on Drug Charge After Traffic Stop

• At 4 p.m. on Wednesday, a deputy made a traffic stop in the 100 block of Salkum Road in Salkum and arrested driver Christopher R. Kalista, 52, of Onalaska, on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine. Kalista is also being referred to prosecutors on suspicion of driving with a suspended license. 

 

Suspect Arrested for Burglary, Pawning Stolen Items

• At 3:15 p.m. on Thursday, deputies arrested Tanner B. Jacobson, 22, of Chehalis, on suspicion of residential burglary and trafficking in stolen property in reference to an earlier burglary in the 900 block of Logan Hill Road. Deputies tracked three stolen Stihl chain saws stolen in the burglary and learned that Jacobson allegedly pawned one at a Centralia pawn shop.

 

Winlock Woman Arrested on Drug Charge After Traffic Stop

• At 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, a deputy stopped a vehicle in the 600 block of Meier Road in Winlock with expired tabs. Driver Caitlin Allred, 24, of Winlock, was arrested on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine. 

 

Inmate Booked for Drug Possession

• At 6:40 p.m. on Thursday, deputies responded to the Lewis County Jail after receiving a report that methamphetamine was found on a woman being booked into the jail on other charges. Sophea Delavergne, 40, of Winlock, was booked on the additional charge of possession of a controlled substance. 

 

Lewis County Jail Statistics

• As of Friday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 222 inmates with 187 in general population, 33 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center and two in work release. Of general population inmates, 148 were men and 39 were women and of WERC inmates, 27 were men and six women. A total of 56 inmates were booked through contracts with agencies outside Lewis County.
