Centralia Police Department

Hondas Stolen, Recovered

• At 7:52 a.m. on Tuesday, a 1988 Honda Accord was reported stolen in the 1000 block of North Pearl Street. The car was recovered later that day.

• At 9:22 a.m. on Tuesday, a 1997 Honda Civic was reported stolen in the 1200 block of North Tower Avenue. It was recovered later in the day. 

Vehicle Prowls

• At 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, a chain saw was reported stolen from a truck bed in the 1400 block of Lewis Street.

• At 10:04 a.m. on Tuesday, medication and mail was reported stolen from a locked vehicle in the 600 block of North Washington Avenue. The medication was recovered a short distance away.

• At 8:35 a.m. on Wednesday, a vehicle prowl was reported in the 300 block of South Pearl Street. Change was taken from the unlocked vehicle.

Assault Suspects Arrested

• At 12:41 a.m. on Wednesday, Andrew Gee, 25, of Centralia, was arrested on suspicion of fourth-degree assault, domestic violence, in the 1200 block of Harrison Avenue.

• At 1:47 a.m. on Wednesday, police arrested Travis Tomkin, 35, of Centralia, on suspicion of fourth-degree assault, domestic violence, in the 1400 block of Harrison Avenue. 

Utility Box Spray Painted

• At 12:53 a.m. on Wednesday, police received a report that a utility box was spray painted in the 900 block of Alder Street.

Money Stolen

• At 6:04 a.m. on Wednesday, money was reported stolen in the 1400 block of Oxford Avenue. 

Burglaries

• At 8:06 a.m. on Wednesday, police received a report of a burglary to a business in the 2000 block of Industrial Drive. A lighter was missing.

• At 8:51 a.m. on Wednesday, a burglary was reported at a garage in the 200 block of West Walnut Street.

• At 9:24 a.m. on Wednesday, a burglary was reported at a business in the 1700 block of Industrial Drive. Bolt cutters, a camera and a 12-pack of pop were stolen.

Morton Police Department

Men Cited, Arrested for Allegedly Drinking in Public

• At 8:55 p.m. on June 27, police arrested Duncan R. Patterson, 43, of Edgewood, in the 200 block of Main Avenue in Morton on suspicion of drinking in public and breach of public peace. Christopher J. Johnson, 34, of Randle, was cited and released on suspicion of drinking in public.  

Officers Investigate Report of Suspect Tampering with Trucks

• At 4:08 p.m. on June 28, police received a report of a person tampering with semi trucks in the 400 block of Second Street in Morton. 

Man Arrested on Suspicion of Assault

• At 2:08 p.m. on Saturday, police responded to a report of an assault in the 300 block of Second Street in Morton. Robert J. Johnson, 48, of Morton, was arrested on suspicion of third-degree assault.

Noisy Bird Leads to Investigation

• At 11:07 p.m. on Saturday, police responded to the 200 block of First Street in Morton after receiving a noise complaint. A person reported a neighbor’s bird was making too much noise. The report is under investigation. 

Juveniles Cited for Alcohol Use After Fireworks Report

• At 12:55 a.m. on Sunday, police responded to the 200 block of First Street in Morton after receiving a report of an unlawful discharge of fireworks. Three juveniles were cited  on suspicion of being minors in consumption of alcohol and were released to their parents. 

Blueberry Fest Sign Generates Complaint

• At 2:03 p.m. on Sunday, police received a report that the Blueberry Festival sign in

Mossyrock was hanging too low.

Kids Told To Desist Lighting Fireworks

• At 9:54 p.m. on Monday, police responded to a report of juveniles lighting fireworks in the parking lot of a pre-scheduled fireworks show in Mossyrock. The juveniles were contacted and told to stop lighting the fireworks.

Chehalis Police Department

Sexual Assault Reported

• At 7:55 a.m. on Friday, police received a report of a sexual assault in Chehalis. No further information was available.

Vehicle Stolen in Thurston County Recovered in Chehalis

• At 12:30 p.m. on Friday, police recovered a vehicle stolen from Thurston County in the 600 block of Southwest Cascade Avenue.

Rape Reported

• At 1:03 p.m. on Friday, a rape was reported in the 1000 block of Southwest Kelly Avenue. No arrests were made. The report is under investigation.

Teen Booked After Harassment Report

• At 2:22 p.m. on Friday, police arrested a 17-year-old Chehalis male on suspicion of threatening to harm another person in the 100 block of Southwest 11th Street. 

Assault Reported

• At 2:10 p.m. on Saturday, police received a report of a fourth-degree assault in the 400 block of Southwest 19th Street. No arrests were made.

Suspicious Person Offers Drugs

• At 5 p.m. on Saturday, police received a report of a suspicious person trespassing in the 100 block of Northwest Chehalis Avenue. The person reportedly refused to leave the area and was offering drugs to people. 

Teen Referred to Prosecutors for Alleged Threats

• At 3:55 p.m. on Sunday, a 13-year-old was referred to juvenile prosecutors for allegedly threatening people with a baseball bat in the 300 block of Southwest Third Street.

Vehicle Prowls

• At 7:21 a.m. on Monday, police received a report of a vehicle prowl in the 1000 block of Southwest Snively Avenue.

• At 9:41 a.m. on Monday, police received a report of a vehicle prowl in the 800 block of Southwest 20th Street.

Attempted Burglary

• At 11:22 a.m. on Monday, an attempted break-in was reported at a building in the 1000 block of South Market Boulevard.

Teens Throw Fireworks at House

• At 5:33 p.m. on Monday, police received a report of two teenage boys throwing fireworks at a house in the 800 block of South Market Boulevard. No arrests were made. 

Alleged Shoplifter Cited

• At 6:27 a.m. on Tuesday, police cited Samantha E. Taylor, 20, of Pe Ell, on suspicion of third-degree theft and malicious mischief in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. 

Juveniles Play on Railroad Trestle

• At 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday, police received a report of juveniles trespassing and playing with fireworks on a railroad trestle in the 1000 block of Rice Road. 

Homeless Trespassers Reported

• At 5:06 p.m. on Tuesday, police received a report of a homeless camp on private property in the 600 block of West Main Street. 

Caller Reports Theft of Groceries

• At 5:11 p.m. on Tuesday, police received a report of a theft in progress of a cart full of groceries in the 1000 block of South Market Boulevard. No arrests were made.

Theft Suspect Cited

• At 6:27 p.m. on Tuesday, police cited Joseph K. Hansen, 22, of Centralia, on suspicion of third-degree theft in the 1000 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue after he allegedly stole paint.

Suspect Booked on Warrant, Drug Possession 

• At 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday, officers contacted two men in the area of the intersection of 15th Street and Wilson Avenue. One man, identified as Travis C. Harris, 26, of Chehalis was arrested on an outstanding warrant. He was also booked on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine after officers reportedly found the drug in his possession. 

Lewis County Sheriff’s Office

Chain Saws, Cash Stolen 

• At 5:11 a.m. on Friday, deputies were dispatched to a report of a burglary in the 1600 block 

of Bishop Road in Chehalis. A person reported he noticed a window in a building at the address, a business office for RMT Equipment, had been broken with a rock. Five Husqvarna chain saws and $361.49 in cash were stolen. Metal siding and a double-paned window suffered about $500 in damage. The total loss is estimated at $3,300. The incident is under investigation. Drag marks on gravel at the business indicate the suspect may have headed north after the burglary, according to the Sheriff’s Office. 

Honda Stolen

• A 1996 Honda Civic three-door valued at $2,500 was reported stolen between June 30 and Friday in the 3100 block of Ives Road in Centralia.  

Refrigerator, Dishwasher Stolen From Vacant Vader Home

• A vacant home in the 100 block of Tara Lane in Vader was reportedly burglariz between May 16 and June 29, according to the Sheriff’s Office. The alleged victim went to the home to check on vehicles stored there to find the front door broken and a refrigerator and dishwasher taken. The total loss is estimated at $850.

Water Filter Stolen at Animal Clinic

• The Sheriff’s Office received a report of a burglary between Friday and Saturday to a pump house at the Ford’s Prairie Animal Clinic in the 2500 block of Harrison Avenue in Centralia. A sand water filter was stolen, and the door frame of the building and a gas meter were damaged. An investigation is ongoing. 

Packwood Man Arrested After Alleged Headbutt

• At 11:04 p.m. on Friday, police responded to a report of a dispute in the 100 block of Slalom Way in Packwood. Michael R. McCord, 46, of Packwood, was arrested on suspicion of fourth-degree assault for allegedly headbutting a 16-year-old boy while he was intoxicated, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Man Booked for Driving Violation, Violation of Protection Order. 

• At 7:01 p.m. on Saturday, Terry R. Griffis, 50, of Centralia, was arrested on suspicion of driving with a suspended license and violation of a no-contact order after a traffic stop in Lewis County, according to the Sheriff’s Office. 

Man Arrested for Trespassing at Grocery Store

• At 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, the Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a trespasser in the 2900 block of U.S. Highway 12 in Silver Creek. Richard E. Graham, 43, of Silver Creek, was arrested on suspicion of criminal trespass after he allegedly went into the store to buy beer twice despite being banned from the store. 

Olympia Man Arrested on DUI Charge

• At 2:11 a.m. on Wednesday, Andre J. Leonard, 30, of Olympia, was arrested in the 100 block of West Main Street in Centralia on suspicion of DUI. 

Texas Transient Investigated for Allegedly Threatening Jail Staff

• At 5 p.m. on Saturday, the Sheriff’s Office received a report of a threat to two corrections officers at the Lewis County Jail. Cordarryl G. Demby, 29, a transient from Texas, was brought to the jail on misdemeanor charges by the Washington State Patrol, and allegedly refused to answer questions from corrections officers or change his clothes, and became agitated, according to the Sheriff’s Office. He allegedly poked an officer in the chest and threatened to “hospitalize” another. He was scheduled to make his first appearance on third-degree assault charges Tuesday in Lewis County Superior Court, but the charges were not filed pending further investigation.
