Sirens: Men Arrested After Found Sleeping in Vacant Houses; Woman Walks Into Traffic, Arrested for Disorderly Conduct, Thefts

Centralia Police Department

Gun Stolen

• At 10:28 a.m. on Friday, a firearm was reported stolen in the 1000 block of E Street in Centralia. According to the police department, the victim reported the gun could have been taken by “any number (of) unwanted houseguests he had over the past few months.” 

Man Is Arrested After Allegedly Refusing to Leave Hotel Room

• At 1:39 p.m. on Friday, police responded to a report of a trespasser in the 1300 block of Belmont Avenue. A man reportedly refused to leave his hotel room after checkout time. Police arrested Rikardo H. St. Catherine, 37, of Chehalis, on suspicion of first-degree criminal trespass. 

 

Car Vandalized with Chalk

• At 2:55 p.m. on Friday, police received a report of malicious mischief to a vehicle in the 1500 block of Lewis Street. A woman reported children drew on her car with sidewalk chalk, causing damage to the paint.  

Suspects Booked on Meth Charges

• At 9:26 p.m. on Friday, police responded to the 600 block of Harrison Avenue and arrested Adam P. Chapman, 32, of Centralia, on a Centralia Municipal Court warrant. He was also arrested on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine. 

• At 4:12 a.m. on Saturday, police contacted a person “due to his erratic behavior” in the 1100 block of Belmont Street. Andrew S. Bates, 31, of Olympia, was arrested on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine. 

• At 10:42 a.m. on Saturday, police responded to the 200 block of North Railroad Avenue and arrested Richard A. James, 24, of Shelton, on suspicion of a municipal court warrant. He also was arrested on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine.  

Man Walking in Street Arrested on Obstruction Charge

• At 10:12 p.m. on Friday, police contacted a man walking in the middle of the street near the intersection of Centralia College Boulevard and Iron Street. The man, identified as Mitchell L. Galster, 42, a transient, allegedly refused to cooperate with the officer and was arrested on suspicion of obstructing an officer. 

Vehicle Prowl

• At 3:55 a.m. on Saturday, a vehicle prowl was reported in the 400 block of Union Street. A car stereo was stolen. 

Men Arrested After Found Sleeping in Vacant Houses

• At 7:42 a.m. on Saturday, police responded to the 900 block of West Plum Street for a report of a man sleeping in a vacant home. Isaiah M. O. Davis, 34, a transient, was cited on suspicion of first-degree criminal trespassing. 

• At 10:58 p.m. on Saturday, police responded to the 900 block of West Plum Street and arrested Lonny D. Clevenger, 28, of Centralia, on suspicion of first-degree criminal trespass and on an outstanding warrant. Clevenger was reportedly found sleeping in an abandoned residence. 

Wallet Taken

• At 12:46 p.m. on Saturday, a wallet was reported stolen in the 1300 block of South Gold Street. A man reported he lost his wallet in a store and another person took it. 

Counterfeit Cash Reported

• At 1:37 p.m. on Saturday, counterfeit money was reported in the 600 block of Tower Avenue. The store clerk did not accept the money. 

• At 10:06 p.m. on Sunday, police received a report of counterfeit cash in the 100 block of Harrison Avenue. A man reportedly attempted to use a fake $20 bill, and ran out of the store when confronted.  

Woman Walks Into Traffic, Arrested for Disorderly Conduct

• At 3:02 p.m. on Saturday, police responded to the intersection of First Street and Tower Avenue after receiving a report of a “highly intoxicated” woman walking into traffic. Kazia D. Hartmann, 34, a transient, was arrested on suspicion of disorderly conduct. 

Attempted Theft of Groceries

• At 4:42 p.m. on Saturday, an attempted theft of groceries was reported in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue. A woman reportedly attempted to take groceries without paying for them. The store recovered its property but the suspect left in a vehicle before police arrived.  

Attempted Burglary Reported

• At 4:57 p.m. on Saturday, police received a report that a door to a residence in the 1300 block of St. Helens Street was forcibly opened. No property was taken. 

Money, Medication Stolen in Burglary

• At 5:35 p.m. on Saturday, a burglary was reported in the 1300 block of St. Helens Street. Money and medicine was taken. 

DUI

• At 1:11 a.m. on Sunday, police responded to the 300 block of North Tower Avenue and arrested Ricardo Sanchez Villagran, 32, of Chehalis on suspicion of driving under the influence. He was reportedly caught by police driving the wrong way on a one-way street. 

Woman Cited for Trespassing at Park

• At 4:11 a.m. on Sunday, police cited Amber N. Callantine, 26, of Centralia, on suspicion of criminal trespass in the 100 block of South Pearl Street. She was accused of being in a park between sunset and sunrise after being warned not to. 

Centralia Man Arrested on Obstruction Charge After Running From Warrant

• At 7:04 a.m. on Sunday, police responded to the intersection of Walnut and Iron streets and attempted to arrest Mark A. Silva, 38, of Centralia, on an outstanding warrant. Silva allegedly ran from officers and was taken into custody after a short foot pursuit on additional charges of resisting arrest and obstruction. 

 

Victim Reports Ticket Scam

• At 5:01 p.m. on Sunday, police received a report of a scam in the 600 block of Hunt Street. A victim reported being tricked into paying $200 for concert tickets which they never received. 

Rochester Man Booked on Trespassing Charge

• At 4:05 a.m. on Monday, police responded to the 1000 block of Harrison Avenue and arrested Aaron J. Henning, 28, of Rochester, on suspicion of second-degree criminal trespassing. 

Chehalis Police Department

Thefts 

• At 12:48 p.m. on Friday, a second-degree theft was reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. No arrests were made. 

• At 11:07 p.m. on Saturday, a third-degree theft was reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. 

• At 5:05 p.m. on Sunday, a third-degree theft was reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue.

Curtis Man Booked on Assault Charge

• At 4:43 p.m. on Friday, police responded to a report of an assault in the 200 block of Southwest Second Street. Benny J. Dyer, 32, of Curtis, was arrested on suspicion of fourth-degree assault, domestic violence.

Trespassers Reported

• At 4:47 p.m. on Friday, a trespasser was reported in the 1500 block of North National Avenue. No arrest was made. 

• At 5:52 a.m. on Saturday, a trespasser was reported in the 1400 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. 

• At 8:44 a.m. on Saturday, a trespasser was reported in the 1400 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. 

• At 1:02 p.m. on Saturday, a trespasser was reported in the 300 block of Northwest North Street. 

• At 12:58 p.m. on Sunday, a trespasser was reported in the 500 block of Southeast Adams Avenue. 

Hit and Run

• At 5:18 p.m. on Friday, a hit and run was reported in the 1100 block of South Market Boulevard. 

Lewis County Sheriff’s Office

Garden Equipment, Tools Stolen in Winlock Burglary

• At 11:12 a.m. on Friday, deputies responded to a report of a burglary in the 100 block of North Military Road in Vader. Victims reported they returned home to find a shop door had been pried open. Items taken include a weed trimmer, hand tools and a gas can with gas, valued together at more than $1,800.
