Deputies Respond to Report of Knife Wielding Man

• At 8:20 p.m. Thursday, deputies responded to the 100 block of Maurin Road, Chehalis and arrested an 18-year-old Centralia man under the Involuntary Treatment Act, for posing a threat to himself or others. A caller said the man was in the roadway with a knife.

 

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

 

Juvenile Booked for Disorderly Conduct

• At 1:27 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to Washington Avenue and Alder Street and arrested a male juvenile on suspicion of disorderly conduct.

 

Thefts

• At 5:05 p.m. Wednesday, a theft of cash was reported in the 900 block of Harrison Avenue.

• At 11:08 a.m. Thursday, a theft of a weed eater was reported in the 1100 block of South Silver Street.

 

Hit and Run

• At 1:45 p.m. Wednesday, a hit and run was reported in the 900 block of Harrison Avenue.

 

Two Arrested, Released for Assault

• At 7:53 p.m. Thursday, police responded to Tower Avenue and Hanson Street and arrested and released a 52-year-old and 43-year-old Centralia resident on suspicion of fourth-degree assault after the two allegedly fought one another.

 

Gun Stolen From House

• At 4:20 p.m. Wednesday, a theft of a firearm was reported in the 1500 block of Pike Street.

 

Assault Suspect Referred to Prosecutors

• At 8:45 p.m. Thursday, police responded to the 2400 block of Cooks Hill Road and referred a 22-year-old Centralia man to prosecutors on suspicion of fourth-degree assault after the man allegedly punched a neighbor in the face.

 

Driver Cited for Suspended License

• At 4:29 a.m. Friday, police responded to the 100 block of Harrison Avenue and cited a 26-year-old Centralia resident on suspicion of driving with a suspended license.

 

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

 

Hit and Run

• At 10:17 a.m. Wednesday, a hit and run was reported in the 1800 block of South Market Boulevard.

 

Threats Reported

• At 2:57 p.m. Wednesday, a caller in the 1100 block of Southwest Cascade Avenue reported threatening comments.

 

Collision Causes Injury

• At 4:03 a.m. Thursday, a two-vehicle collision in the 2000 block of Jackson Highway resulted in injuries.

 

Theft

• At 4:19 p.m. Thursday, a theft of money from a tip jar was reported in the 1500 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue.

 

Suspect Referred for Alleged Theft

• At 2:34 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to the 500 block of South Market Boulevard and referred a 33-year-old Chehalis woman to prosecutors for a charge of third-degree theft.

 

Vehicle Prowl

• At 4:32 p.m. Thursday, a vehicle prowl was reported in the 300 block of Northeast Adams Avenue. A gas cap was removed and the vehicle was ransacked. Books and CDs were stolen.

 

Vicious Dog Reported

• At 3:12 p.m. Thursday, a caller in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue requested police talk to a man about his dog biting people.

 

Trespasser Reported

• At 2:03 a.m. Friday, a caller in the 1100 block of Southeast Washington Avenue reported a trespasser on their property.

 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

 

• As of Friday morning, the Lewis County jail had a total system population of 229 inmates, with 195 in general population, 32 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center and two on work release. Of general population inmates, 165 were men and 30 were women and of WERC inmates, 26 were men and six were women. A total of 33 inmates were booked through contracts outside Lewis County.
