Sirens: DUI Suspect Hits Building, Fire Hydrant, Car Before Arrest

Centralia Police Department

Hit and Run

• At 11:29 a.m. on Tuesday, police received a report of a hit and run damaging a parked vehicle in a parking lot at the intersection of Main Street and Tower Avenue. 

 

Centralia Woman Booked on Robbery Charge

• At 1:07 p.m. on Tuesday, police responded to the 600 block of North Tower Avenue to a report of a robbery. Tanya M. Cruz, 39, of Centralia was arrested on suspicion of second-degree robbery. 

 

Counterfeit $20 Spotted

• At 1:43 p.m. on Tuesday, police received a report of a person using a counterfeit $20 bill at a store in the 1200 block of Belmont Avenue. 

 

Shoplifter Steals Vodka

• At 2:43 p.m. on Tuesday, police received a report of the theft of two bottles of vodka in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue. 

 

Theft Suspect Cited

• At 2:48 p.m. on Tuesday, police responded to the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue and cited Loria D. Heller, 49, of Centralia, on suspicion of third-degree theft. 

 

Randle Suspect Issued Summons for Trespassing

• At 4:51 p.m. on Tuesday, police responded to the 100 block of South Silver Street to a report of trespassing. A 33-year-old Randle resident was issued a summons for trespassing. 

Purse Stolen

• At 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday, a purse and its contents were reported stolen while the victim was shopping in the 500 block of Harrison Avenue. 

 

Mail Theft

• At 7:49 a.m. on Wednesday, police received a report of the theft of mail in the 700 block of West Third Street.

 

Graffiti Reported

• At 7:56 a.m. on Wednesday, police received a report of spray paint on a sign overnight in the 400 block of East Summa Street.

 

Robbery Ends in Arrest

  Jason A. Landry, 40, of Centralia, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail at 9:18 a.m. Wednesday for second-degree robbery at the intersection of Harrison Avenue and First Street. 

 

Vehicle Accidents

• At 10 a.m. on Wednesday, police received a report of a three-vehicle collision with injuries on Harrison Avenue and Bridge Street. 

• At 10:04 a.m. on Wednesday, police received a report of a vehicle that collided with a pole at Reynolds Avenue and Johnson Road. 

• At 12:08 p.m. on Wednesday, police received a report of a two-vehicle, non-injury collision at Grand Avenue and Fair Street. 

 

Donuts Stolen

• At 7:06 p.m. on Wednesday, police received a report of an adult male who was observed stealing approximately $15 worth of donuts from a local business in the 500 block of South Tower Avenue. The police department said it is not clear who the suspect is, but the case is under investigation.

 

Bike Stolen

• At 7:56 p.m. on Wednesday, police received a report of a white Genesis 29 model bicycle stolen from the front yard of a residence in the 1300 block of Belmont Avenue by an unknown suspect. 

 

Wallet Theft Results in ATM Use

• At 10:37 p.m. on Wednesday, a wallet containing a credit card and other items was reported stolen from a vehicle. The credit card was later used at an ATM, but the location is unknown at this time. The investigation is ongoing. 

 

Assault Reported

• At 12:11 a.m. on Thursday, police received a report from a woman who said she was assaulted by a male who slapped her in the back of the head before leaving the room of a local motel in the 700 block of Harrison Avenue. The suspect was not located. 

 

Chehalis Police Department

Hit and Runs

• At 9:04 a.m. on Friday, police received a report of a hit and run in the 1300 block of Northwest Maryland Avenue. The suspect reportedly parked his vehicle and fled on foot. Richard T. Jones, 48, of Chehalis, was later arrested on suspicion of hit and run, attended, driving with a suspended license and a warrant. 

• At 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, a hit and run was reported in the 1900 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. 

 

Vehicle Prowl

• At 12:06 p.m. on Friday, police received a report of a vehicle prowl in the 400 block of Southwest William Avenue in Chehalis. A Samsung tablet was taken out of a tow truck. 

 

Accused Shoplifters Arrested

• At 1:09 p.m. on Friday, police responded to a report of a theft in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. Darcie D. Gonzales, 28, of Chehalis, was arrested on suspicion of third-degree theft for allegedly taking $8.75 in makeup products. In the same incident, Natalie N. Kelly, 33, of Chehalis, was arrested on suspicion of possession of heroin and referred to prosecutors on a third-degree theft charge. 

• At 3:53 p.m. on Saturday, police responded to a report of a theft in the 500 block of South Market Boulevard. Ashley C. Varga, 28, of Napavine, was arrested on suspicion of third-degree theft for allegedly taking $232.42 in merchandise.

• At 4:03 p.m. on Saturday, police responded to a report of a theft in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. The suspect reportedly fled the scene. Police investigated and arrested Kody L. Hohstadt, 32, of Olympia, on suspicion of aiding and abetting a third-degree theft. Hohstadt is accused of driving the theft suspect from the scene, according to the Chehalis Police Department.

 

Thefts Reported

• At 5:15 p.m. on Friday, police received a report of a theft in the 1100 block of South Market Boulevard.

• At 4:29 p.m. on Sunday, a third-degree theft was reported in the 600 block of West Main Street. No arrests were made. 

• At 2:45 p.m. on Tuesday, a theft was reported from the 1700 block of North National Avenue. 

 

Trespasser Reported

• At 9:04 p.m. on Friday, police received a report of a man in a vehicle trespassing in the 100 block of Southeast 16th Street.

 

Counterfeit Cash Reported

• At 3:15 p.m. on Saturday, police received a report of counterfeit money in the 300 block of Northwest State Avenue. 

 

Protection Order Violated

• At 3:24 p.m. on Saturday, police received a report of a violation of a protection order in the 700 block of Northwest Maryland Avenue in Chehalis.

 

DUI Suspect Hits Building, Fire Hydrant, Car Before Arrest

• At 6:20 p.m. on Saturday, police responded to a report of an erratic driver in the 300 block of West Main Street. A vehicle reportedly hit a building, a fire hydrant and another vehicle, then drove on the wrong side of the road before eventually being stopped by the Washington State Patrol. Driver Debra A. Adair Keys, 57, of Chehalis, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and hit and run, unattended. 

 

No Arrests After Assault Reports

• At 2:50 a.m. on Sunday, police responded to a report of an assault in the 300 block of Southwest Third Street. A woman reported a man hit her in the face. The man told police the woman hit him first. No arrests were made.

• At 12:56 p.m. on Sunday, a fourth-degree assault was reported in the 500 block of North Market Boulevard. No arrests were made. 

 

Harassment Reported

• At 10:41 p.m. on Sunday, police received a report of harassment and stalking in the 300 block of Southeast Valley View Way. No arrests were reported. 

 

Malicious Mischief

• At 10:21 a.m. on Monday, police responded to a report of a disturbance in the 300 block of Southeast Valley View Way. Osayamen T. Vosper-Woghiren, 28, of Chehalis, was arrested on suspicion of third-degree malicious mischief, domestic violence.

• At 5:08 p.m. on Tuesday, police received a report of a dispute between family members and responded to the 600 block of Northwest Quincy Place in Chehalis. Sandra J. Dickenson, 54, of Chehalis, was arrested on suspicion of third-degree malicious mischief. 

 

Truck Egged

• At 11:46 a.m. on Monday, police received a report that a truck was egged in the 1300 block of Southwest Johnson Avenue. 

 

Suspect Booked on Drug Charge After Report of Disorderly Conduct

• At 3:04 p.m. on Monday, police received a report of disorderly conduct and responded to the 600 block of North National Avenue. Terry L. Bryan, 37, of Chehalis, was arrested on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine and disorderly conduct.

 

Possible Vehicle Prowler Reported

• At 11:54 p.m. on Monday, police received a report of a man on a bicycle looking in car windows with a flashlight in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. 

 

Extortion Through Texts Reported

• At 9:07 a.m. Tuesday, police received a report of extortion in the 300 block of West Main Street. Tami M. McGinty, 23, of Chehalis, was arrested on suspicion of second-degree extortion and violation of a protection order. 

 

Graffiti Reported on Garages 

• At 11:12 a.m. on Tuesday, police received a report of malicious mischief in the 200 block of Southwest 11th Street. A garage was tagged with graffiti overnight. 

• At 8:38 p.m. on Tuesday, police received a report of graffiti on a garage in the 600 block of Southwest Chehalis Avenue. 

 

Lewis County Sheriff’s Office

Trailer, Gravel Compactor Stolen

• At 7:12 p.m. on Friday, deputies responded to a report of a theft occurring between Dec. 26 and 27 in the 1500 block of Bishop Road in Chehalis. A black dump truck trailer and a Dynapac gravel compactor in the trailer were reported stolen. The items together are valued at $6,000. 

 

DUI

• At 1:05 a.m. on Saturday, deputies in the 300 block of East State Street in Mossyrock arrested Anthony M. Sword, 27, of Mossyrock, on suspicion of driving under the influence. 

 

Car Theft Suspect Arrested After Returning Vehicle

• At 7 a.m. on Saturday, deputies received a report that a 1995 Saturn Coupe was stolen in the 300 block of Hawkins Road in Winlock. Deputies reportedly arrested suspect Carly R. Holmes, 38, of Chehalis, on Monday when she returned the vehicle to the owner’s property. Deputies are seeking a second suspect, whose name has not yet been released. 

 

Shotgun Shells Taken in Burglary

• At 1:42 p.m. on Saturday, deputies received a report of a burglary at a storage unit in the 1500 block of Bishop Road in Chehalis. A box of ammunition containing 410 shotgun shells was reported stolen.

 

Traffic Emphasis Conducted on Jackson Highway

• From 3 p.m. to midnight on Saturday, seven deputies with the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office participated in a traffic emphasis patrol on Jackson Highway in Chehalis. The emphasis resulted in one felony warrant arrest, two drivers caught with suspended licenses, three written infractions and 44 warnings. 

 

Woman Booked on Drug Charge, Warrant

• At 12:25 p.m. on Sunday, deputies responded to the 4100 block of Jackson Highway and arrested Natasha C. Pogue, 30, of Chehalis, on a felony warrant. A search during her arrest also revealed a bag of a substance testing positive for methamphetamine in her possession. She was booked into the Lewis County Jail on the warrant and on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance.

 

Safe Containing Paperwork Stolen from Winlock Address

• At 8:47 p.m. on Sunday, deputies responded to a report of a burglary in the past two days in the 400 block of Hemmenway Road in Winlock. A safe valued at $450 containing miscellaneous paperwork was reported stolen. The report is under investigation.
