Sirens: Credit Card Skimmer Found on Fuel Pump; Police Investigate Sexual Assault

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Assault Suspect Booked

• At 8:15 a.m. Monday, police responded to the 500 block of South Tower Avenue and referred a 28-year-old Centralia woman to the Lewis County Prosecutor’s Office on suspicion of second-degree assault.

 

Man Accused of Unlawful Imprisonment

• At 10:24 a.m. Monday, police responded to the 600 block of Lakeshore Drive and arrested Daniel Woodfill-McNutt, 31, of Centralia on suspicion of unlawful imprisonment. Woodfill-McNutt allegedly held a woman against her will.

 

Woman Booked for Alleged Meth Possession

• At 11:03 a.m. Monday, police responded to the 1800 block of Cooks Hill Road and arrested Kimberly R. Evans, 60, of Centralia on suspicion of possession of meth.

 

Collision Causes Injuries

• At 11:29 a.m. Monday, a two-vehicle collision was reported in the 1400 block of Harrison Avenue. One vehicle rear-ended the other, resulting in some minor injuries, police reported. The at-fault driver was issued an infraction.

 

Credit Card Skimmer Found on Fuel Pump

• At 11:34 a.m. Monday, a credit card skimmer was found on a fuel pump in the 1200 block of Mellen Street. The U.S. Secret Service is investigating, police say.

 

Police Investigate Reported Assault

• At 11:41 a.m. Monday, an assault was reported in the 100 block of South Silver Street. Police are investigating.

 

Vehicle Prowls

• At 1:34 p.m. Monday, a vehicle prowl was reported in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue. A vehicle door was forced open and items were stolen.

• At 4:18 p.m. Monday, a vehicle prowl was reported in the 3500 block of Steel-Hammer Drive. A vehicle’s back window was broken and a gym bag was stolen.

Police Investigate Sexual Assault

• At 9:01 p.m. Monday, police responded to the 3000 block of Galvin Road on a reported sexual assault.

 

Thefts

• At 10:01 p.m. Monday, a theft of an 18-pack of beer was reported in the 100 block of Harrison Avenue.

• At 7:48 p.m. Tuesday, a theft of a purse was reported in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue.

 

Man Injured in Alcohol-Fueled Assault

• At 12:48 a.m. Tuesday, police responded to the 800 block of South Gold Street, where an 18-year-old man was “seriously injured” in an alcohol-fueled assault. Police are investigating.

 

Window Damaged

• At 3:53 p.m. Tuesday, a caller in the 400 block of Centralia College Boulevard reported damage to a house’s window screen. It appeared as though someone were trying to get into the house.

 

Man Arrested, Released for Criminal Trespass

• At 4:05 a.m. Wednesday, police responded to the 1000 block of Eckerson Road and arrested and released a 50-year-old Centralia man on suspicion of first-degree criminal trespass.

 

Man Allegedly Gives Police Wrong Name

• At 5:34 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to the 500 block of Harrison Avenue and arrested Darrin N. Nice, 20, of Centralia on suspicion of criminal impersonation. Nice allegedly identified himself to police using a family member’s name to conceal the fact that there was an outstanding warrant for his arrest, and because he was too young for the gallon of whiskey he was carrying.

 

Summons Issued in Assault Investigation

• At 2:52 a.m. Wednesday, police responded to the 3200 block of Galvin Road and issued a summons to a 20-year-old Centralia resident on suspicion of fourth-degree assault.

 

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

Person Seen Smoking Weed on City Easement

• At 12:04 p.m. Tuesday, a caller at John Street and Chehalis Avenue said a man was smoking marijuana by a vehicle parked on an easement. The vehicle had been sitting there for about a week, the caller said.

 

Person Injured in Reported Robbery

• At 1:40 p.m. Tuesday, a caller in the 200 block of Southwest 13th Street reported he was robbed inside a vehicle by two individuals. The victim was struck multiple times and a coat containing some items was stolen, the victim reported.

 

Group of Kids Keep Trying to Get on Property

• At 3:50 p.m. Tuesday, a caller in the 700 block of Southwest Moonlight Lane said a group of kids keep trying to trespass on the caller’s property.

 

Driver Fails to Pull Over, Runs off on Foot

• At 9:43 p.m. Tuesday, an officer attempted to pull over a vehicle at State Avenue and Prindle Street. The vehicle failed to pull over, maintaining a speed of about 25 miles per hour. The driver eventually got out of the vehicle and ran away. Officers were unable to locate the suspect, but believe they know the identity of the suspect.

 

Male Subject Seen Stumbling in Middle of Road

• At 10:10 p.m. Tuesday, a caller at Market Avenue and Main Street said a male subject, who appeared to be under the influence, was stumbling down the middle of Market Avenue.

 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

• As of Wednesday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 225 inmates, with 194 in general population and 31 in the work ethic and restitution center. Of general population inmates, 158 were male and 36 were female and of WERC inmates, 28 were male and three were female. A total of 49 inmates were booked through contracts outside Lewis County.
