Rochester Driver Uninjured in Olympia Hit and Run

The Rochester driver of a crane semi-truck was not injured after a crash on northbound Interstate 5 in Olympia.

The crash was reported at 6:21 a.m. on Wednesday at milepost 107 on Interstate 5.

The first vehicle, a blue semi dump truck driven by an unknown driver, was heading northbound in lane three. A second vehicle, a green 1999 Honda Accord driven by Angela M. Rowland, 34, of Tumwater, was in lane two, and vehicle three, the crane semi driven by Wilbur G. Woody, 54, of Rochester, was in lane one.

The dump truck hit the Honda, which lost control and was hit by the crane truck, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The unidentified dump truck fled the scene.

Rowland was injured and transported to Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia. A juvenile passenger in that vehicle was not injured.

Woody was also not injured.

The road was blocked for two hours and forty minutes.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
