Randle Brush Fire Burns 17 Acres

The Department of Natural Resources will likely be on the scene of a Randle Brush fire that started Wednesday afternoon for the next couple days.

The fire spanned an area just greater than 17 acres, said Lewis Fire District 14 Chief Jeff Jaques. There are no structures in the area and nobody was injured, he said.

Crews were dispatched to the area — on Old Barn Road, southeast of Randle — at about 3:15 p.m. Wednesday. Investigators with the DNR are looking into the fire’s cause, said Jaques.

He added that DNR crews will likely be tending to the scene at least through tomorrow to ensure it’s extinguished.
