A man was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle after reportedly striking a deer while driving a motorcycle down Park Road east of Winlock Sunday morning, authorities said.

According to Lewis County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Bruce Kimsey, deputies were dispatched to the 500 block of Park Road at 7 a.m.

Kimsey said the motorcycle went down on the road after striking and killing the deer. The driver suffered from several broken bones.

Images from the scene depict a severely damaged motorcycle, said Kimsey.

Kimsey said current reported didn’t include any additional information on the motorcyclist — including his age or where he lives.

Kimsey said that was the second collision involving a deer and a motorcycle over the weekend. The other occurred in the Adna area, and caused a man to be transported to Providence Centralia Hospital. He was released that same day. Kimsey said there was not currently a report available with further details on that collision.
