A Las Vegas man accused of raping a 13-year-old girl at a party in Lewis County in 2012 was sentenced Wednesday in Lewis County Superior Court to 41 months in prison.

Tyler M. McKee, 22, was charged on Aug. 1 with one count of second-degree child rape and has been held since then on $100,000 bail.

McKee pleaded guilty on Sept. 21 to two counts of second-degree child molestation. He was sentenced Wednesday to 41 months, or about three and a half years, in prison.

According to court documents, in May 2012, a 13-year-old girl reported that she had been raped at a house party in Centralia. The girl reported that she became so drunk she had trouble walking, then said as many as three male suspects had sexual contact with her.

The girl was examined at the time by medical staff and a rape kit was evaluated by the Washington State Crime Lab, but no arrests were made.

In 2015, detectives interviewed a witness who identified McKee, who was 19 at the time of the alleged assault. McKee’s DNA sample reportedly matched DNA taken from the victim.

At the sentencing hearing Wednesday, McKee’s attorney, J.P. Enbody, told the court McKee thought everyone at the party was over 18.

Enbody noted that McKee had been helpful while in custody, and helped police identify a second suspect in the case.
