A 59-year-old man was transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with serious injuries after being struck by an SUV in the 900 block of Alder Street in Centralia.
First responders arrived in the area at 1 p.m. Sunday, and found the man laying in the roadway with multiple traumatic injuries, according to a press release from Riverside Fire Authority.
He was taken to Providence Centralia Hospital initially, and was then immediately taken to Seattle via helicopter.
The Centralia Police Department is investigating the incident, said Sgt. Dave Clary, who added that more information will likely be available when that investigation concludes.
“The extent of the injuries is unknown to us at this time,” said Clary.
The SUV additionally struck a few vehicles that were parked along the side of the road when it struck the pedestrian, said Clary.
