Man Accused of Head-Butting Woman, Fracturing Her Skull

A Chehalis man was charged Monday in Lewis County Superior Court with head-butting a woman, causing a skull fracture and several broken or loose teeth, according to court documents. 

Sean M. Riley, 29, was arrested on suspicion of first-degree assault and charged with the lesser offense of second-degree assault, domestic violence, in Lewis County Superior Court Monday. 

Riley was granted bail and released from the Lewis County Jail that day. His next court hearing is scheduled for Thursday. 

According to court documents, on Friday, a deputy from the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office Responded to Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia to investigate an assault. A woman reported she and Riley were having a serious discussion in Lewis County when he “focused his anger” on her and head-butted her in the face. 

According to court documents, medical professionals at the hospital diagnosed the woman with a skull fracture above her right eye and sinus. She also reportedly had broken and loose teeth.
