Fire Destroys Toledo Home, Displacing Two Families

Posted

A fire completely destroyed a Toledo residence Saturday evening that was home to two families, according to Lewis County Fire District 2 Chief Mike Dorothy.

No injuries were reported, but two pets were killed in the fire.

Crews responded at 5:25 p.m. Saturday to the two-story wood-framed home in the 500 block of Toledo Vader Road.

“We did a defensive attack because it was too risky to go inside,” Dorothy said.

The home was completely destroyed. Fire crews from Winlock, Vader, Napavine, Toutle and Castle Rock also responded.

Dorothy said it is unknown what caused the fire.

“The investigator was out to look at it, but the damage to the house is pretty severe,” he said.
