Fire Destroys Centralia Outbuilding, Kills Poultry

A shipping container full of poultry and an outbuilding were destroyed by a fire in the 100 block of Bear View Drive in Centralia Saturday morning.

Riverside Fire Authority reported that no humans were injured during the incident, which is under investigation.

According to an RFA press release, firefighters responded to the area at 6:08 a.m. Saturday. The first people on scene found an outbuilding completely engulfed in flame, with fire extending to a nearby fir tree.

The fire continued to a 40-foot shipping container used to house poultry. Birds were lost, but reports don’t indicate specifically how many.

One RFA engine and three tenders extinguished the blaze.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
