The Lewis County Coroner’s Office has identified a man found dead Feb. 4 on Mandy Road in Toledo as Patrick Pemberton, 48, of Tumwater.
The cause of death is multiple blunt force injuries to the head, neck, torso and extremities, and the manner of death is pending further investigation, according to Chief Deputy Coroner Dawn Harris.
Pemberton’s body was found at about 8 p.m. Feb. 4.
Investigators with the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office believed he was walking southbound on Interstate 5 and either jumped or fell from the overpass.
Witnesses reported seeing the man walking across the I-5 bridge crossing Mandy Road, and told the Sheriff’s Office he was acting erratically in the time shortly before his body was found.
He was pronounced dead at the scene. Foul play is not suspected.
