A 40-year-old Chehalis man was arrested Saturday after a “clash” between political groups at the Capitol Campus in Olympia, according to a report from the Washington State Patrol.

The man’s name was not released. According to the report, troopers responded to the scene during a confrontation between groups, neither of which had a permit to congregate at the capitol.

A member of one group identified his party as being affiliated with Patriot Prayer, a far-right group based in Portland.

“The second group refused to claim an affiliation but wore Antifa symbols on their clothing,” according to the news release.

The man arrested was part of the second group. The alleged victim was affiliated with Patriot Prayer and was treated at the scene for facial abrasions.

Both groups fled the area before additional troopers arrived. An investigation is ongoing.
